Chhichhore Is A Hilarious Movie With A Great Message
14. October 2019 at 09:00
Chhichhore is one of the latest Bollywood movies and it was released last Friday (September 6th, 2019). I went to watch it with my friends and we got a lot more than we expected. By the looks of the trailers and the songs, it appeared to be a Romcom tale of seven friends and their college and hostel life. We were expecting a funny and nostalgic movie. Well, I guess I now know why people say ‘never judge a book by its cover’.

The movie takes you through a ride of funny, emotional, dramatic, and romantic scenes. A nostalgic tale that will take you back to your college and hostel life and leave you with an impeccable story and a very good message. A message that will have you working your brain muscles for a while. And that message is one of the reasons why this movie is one of my favorite Bollywood movies now. So, buckle up as we breakdown the masterpiece that is Chhichhore.

The Story

The movie starts with the main character Anni (Played By Sushant Singh Rajput) coming back from work and checking on his son. His son was under a lot of pressure because of the result of his college entrance exams. Anni advises his son not to take any pressure as he worked very hard on his studies and he was sure that his son is going to clear the entrance exam. Anni and Maya (Played By Shraddha Kapoor) are divorced parents of their son and they both keep giving him the same advice but in their own different ways.

Well, Anni’s son is sitting with his friend and he checks his result online which says ‘Better Luck Next Time!!!’. This breaks his heart and he breaks down into tears. The poor lad thinks that he let down his parents and then takes a devastating decision. He attempts suicide by jumping from the top of a building. This leaves him seriously injured and he ends up in an ICU.

His friend calls Anni to tell him about the incident. Anni ruches towards the hospital where Maya is already waiting for the doctor to come out of the room that their son was in. The friend tells them that their son said that he thought people will call him a loser for failing the examination. After hearing the word ‘Loser’, Anni reminisces about his hostel and college life and this gave him an idea… a brilliant one.

Anni goes home and comes back the next day with his college photo album. He starts telling his funny and inspiring story of his college life to his son. After some time, the son starts fidgeting and a nurse tells Anni to go out of the room. After the doctor comes out of the room, he tells Anni and Maya that their son is out of the coma and he is asking about Sexa (Played By Varun Sharma), the person with whom Anni started the story.

Now, the rest of the movie is a ride of funny, emotional, dramatic, and romantic scenes happening both at present and in flashback. I won’t tell the whole story here for obvious reasons but I must say this, Chhichhore is a must-watch if you have ever experienced pressure regarding your work or studies or even if you miss your college life and your college friends (who doesn’t?).

The Message

The beautiful message in the movie is that we must never let the pressure of anything, and I mean anything, eat us from the inside. Whatever happens, you succeed or fail, always remember that your life is beautiful and the most important thing that you have. Also, no matter what, your friends and family (loved ones) will always have your back. So, just keep grinding while taking no unnecessary pressure about anything.
