Multiple intelligence versus Inflexible Teachers
27. July 2019 at 12:03
At certain point in life we have all in one way or the other feel marginalized or probably believed we are not up to a specified task based on how we relate to it or handle it . Well this is about how people whom we see as our heroes and future builders (Teachers ) failed to adjust to our different conditions and capabilities of learning . This is about how creating a conducive environment for us all will held a better outcome to our Nation.

           Multiple intelligence versus Inflexible Teachers

Multiple intelligence (MI) is that God's given way and means through which we are at our best especially when it comes to acquiring knowledge or in solving a specific problem based on a subject matter under inquiry.

While inflexible teachers are teachers who doesn't alter, neither adjust, nor change their instruction depending on who is in the classroom and the extent to which those students are achieving .

We have all been consider a dump learner in one way or the other, while coming up as a young people base on different activities of life . We faced those challenges day by day in our quest of learning or doing something . A person who gets the exact answer (what the teacher expect ) is consider a brilliant and smart Student ,from the rest of us who sometimes go out of the box or probably give our own definitions and examples relating to a specific subject matter .A person is consider to be an educated person when he or she implements the skills, knowledge or talent learned through solving different problems and situations .As It is often noted that Education has to do with impacting knowledge, skills or ideas in to someone, but how you try impacting that knowledge or skills in to that individual counts. You see Understanding how every Individual learn, and giving preference to the way they learn help everyone reach their full potential in life.A man by the name of Mark Twain once said "I never let my schooling interfere with my education."It is said that a child educated only in school is an uneducated child. What does that mean? It means that true education is not merely learned through a textbook ,and the way you prove that one understands something is not merely through a test. This is the old way. The chalk and talk way. The way of memorizing facts and dates then taking a test and then forgetting about them a week later. What good does that do?A man by the name of Howard Gardner came up with the theory of multiple intelligence .He said that there are eight (8)different types of learners. They have Visual (spatial)learner :the prefer using pictures, images, and spatial understanding. The Aural (auditory-musical) learner : they prefer using sound and music. The Verbal (linguistic) learner : they prefer using words, both in speech and writing. The Physical (kinesthetic) learner :they prefer using your body, hands and sense of touch. The Logical (mathematical) learner : they prefer using logic, reasoning and systems. The Social (interpersonal)learner : they prefer to learn in groups or with other people. The Solitary (intrapersonal) learner : they prefer to work alone and use self-study.

The Existential Intelligence learner : they have the Sensitivity and capacity to tackle deep questions about human existence, such as the meaning of life, why we die, and how did we get hereSee, we all have different gifts and strengths, and to create an educational system,Where only one type of learning is preferred is absurd. Not only unfair, but it sacrifices the God-given abilities of students and the good of the World. The best advice I could give a student is figure out how you learn. Just because you fail a test doesn't mean you are "slow." Just because you\re having a hard time understanding something doesn't mean it\s impossible. Because there\s no bad students, only inflexible teachers. Moreover , Liberia (A country in West Africa) is a part of the world where much consideration is not given to the way one learns. As a result, some with different learning skills and abilities are being stigmatized as poor performers or unserious minded people. They say everyone is a genius, but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live it entire life believing that it is stupid. Understanding everyone's condition and creating a suitable educational environment where everyone is someone could be one of the best remedy to our problems and our poor performance in public examination.I dream of a day where  everyone abilities and skills are talking in to considerations, because I believe that there is no dump student only inflexible teachers.
